A Lifetime of Achievement
- Small Business Owner Since 1981 – Brent launched Romick Realty in 1981, which evolved into Romick and Associates, Inc. as a firm specializing in sales, consulting and resource management. He later championed Ranch Preservation Subdivision efforts and orchestrated conservation easements on more than 20,000 acres in Routt County ensuring the beauty of our County endures.
- Shaping Land Use Policy for Decades – Brent’s influence is evident in Routt County’s land use policies. His dedication helped secure crucial protections for the environment, water, agriculture, and wildlife habitats. He has been involved in large scale property management and development/un-development in numerous areas within Routt County. He has worked in commercial, residential, industrial, single and multi-family projects his entire 45-year business career, solely within Routt County. His experience and ownership of many projects makes him the most experienced candidate, who’s input is needed in the current political environment.
- Howelsen Hill and Romick Arena Champion – Brent’s involvement in the current Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo series began in 1979. In 1990, the City of Steamboat Springs presented Brent with a proclamation stating the Howelsen Hill Rodeo Grounds shall be called the Brent A. Romick Arena for his outstanding dedication to Rodeo in Steamboat Springs and preserving our western heritage.
- Ranch Preservation and Conservation Visionary – In the mid 1990’s, Brent and a local partnership developed a Land Preservation Subdivision (LPS) known as Creek Ranch. As part of these labors, in 2000, he was awarded the “Excellence in Riparian Management” from the Colorado Riparian Association for his commendable stewardship of riparian and wetland resources on the 1700-acre historic parcel. This award displayed an innovative vision of how land use changes can be designed to preserve western values, native landscapes and sensitive habitats. In 2003, Brent and his wife embarked on a master plan project for a local 20,000-acre ranch. This included conserving important wildlife habitat on 85% of the lands, while managing the ranch. By 2012, they, along with the ranch owners, secured the largest conservation easement in the history of Routt County, at that time, with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The addition of these conserved lands, combined with other easements in the area, safeguarded over 50,000-acres of protected habitat in Routt County.
Brent's unwavering commitment goes beyond his impressive past. He has a clear vision for the future:
